The Best Way to See the Detroit Skyline in the Summer? A Rooftop BBQ!

July 10, 2017 | Apartment Living

Every year for the past five years, my downtown Detroit loft has hosted a Pre-Fireworks Rooftop BBQ and, as usual, it was fabulous!

Residents can bring guests and we get a chance to meet new neighbors and mingle with our friends from the building. The Leasing Office and Staff organized games that were not only fun but gave everyone a chance to meet one another and make new friends.

The Lofts of Merchants Row also held a raffle with some sweet swag and prizes!

They didn’t forget the savory either! The annual event is sponsored by the Hudson Cafe—the restaurant on our first floor that delivers their delicious Breakfasts, Brunch, Sandwiches, and Salads to our door with the ‘Lofts Room Service.’ This time Chef Tom and his staff created a full BBQ spread for us, complete with fall-off-the-bone Ribs and fresh-baked Cornbread.

The rooftop was hopping, especially once the band the Lofts of Merchants Row brought in so we had live music as we looked out over the Motown skyline.

I love the city I call home, and I especially love living in a luxury loft at the Lofts of Merchants Row where my neighbors are more than just neighbors–they’re my friends—and where I can get breakfast or lunch delivered to my door or walk just out my front door and enjoy a Specialty Coffee or a Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Rumchata, Cinnamon Whiskey, over ice) on the Hudson Cafe patio before brunch with friends!
