Until House of Pure Vin moved into Merchants Row (basically, the Luxury Loft building I call home), I never knew much about wine.
But with all of the events they put on, I have learned what I love about wine—and I have a wine shop (complete with curators) essentially in my house so I can always pick up a bottle (or three) for myself (or for friends). And what would ‘home’ be without wine?!?!
Tomorrow, the House of Pure Vin is hosting an in-store tasting with Mickey Dunne from Powers Winery as part of their Winemakers Series! Mr. Dunne has “formed Wineworks, a complete farm to consumer consulting company” committed to ‘environmental sustainability.’
From 6:30 until 8 p.m., I will learn about the “Powers wines [which] are crafted by long-time winemaker Jose Mendoza to showcase Washington State’s diverse microclimates and distinctive vineyards. Deeply rooted in long term relationships with premium Columbia Valley growers, Powers Winery sources a variety of the highest quality fruit to consistently produce compelling wines of uncommon depth and complexity. Our Reserve selections showcase bottlings from individual vineyard sites and highlight differences between growing regions throughout the State. All Powers wines reflect a devotion, experience and integrity that result in products worthy to carry the family name.”
I love having House of Pure Vin on the first floor of my Downtown Detroit luxury loft building!
