While I actually wake up every morning and see Comerica Park from my loft windows, I still look forward to a great night at the ballpark with my friends and neighbors!

And our next Lofts of Merchant’s Row Resident Event promises exactly that: my building management gets the block of tickets for all of us (this year we’re behind home plate!) and subsidizes the cost (so we don’t have to blow every sou like Katie Casey!).

We’ll root, root, root for the home team as they take on the Chicago White Sox this year—and a ballgame is a great chance to get to know new neighbors while catching up with longtime friends from my building.

While I’ll sing out for Peanuts and Cracker Jack during the Seventh-Inning-Stretch, I’m not going to settle for anything less than the Ode to Detroit Dog (with Brisket Chili, Green Onions, and Habanero Queso). Unless it’s the Mac Daddy Dog (topped with Mac-n-Cheese, Bacon, and Scallions. Or maybe the Downtown Dog (with Pulled-Pork, BBQ Sauce, and Fried Onions.) This Umpire hasn’t made a call yet on the Detroit Coney Deep Dish Pizza (Little Caesar’s Pan Pizza topped with Chili, Cheese, Hot Dog Slices, Onions, and Mustard) – but the Chicken Shawarma Nachos (Pita Chips piled with Grilled Chicken, Pickles, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Garlic Sauce, and Hummus) never strike out!

And, yes, while I’ll belt out “I don’t care if I never get back” with the rest of my friends and the fans in the stands, it’s not all that hard to when all the Tigers’ home games and Comerica Park are about a five-minute walk from my front door…. Which pretty much makes every outing, every game, and every season a #WIN!
